TUPELO – A Tupelo man has been arrested on an aggravated domestic violence charge following an investigation into a reported assault last month, according to the Tupelo Police Department.
Officers responded around 4:06 p.m. July 27 to North Mississippi Medical Center regarding a reported domestic assault.
Police said officers spoke with the victim and determined that during an argument, the suspect allegedly choked and struck the victim.
Following further investigation, 26-year-old Dewayne Pryor of Tupelo was located and arrested.
Pryor was charged with aggravated domestic violence.
Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Jay Weir set Pryor’s bond at $35,000.
The case will be presented to a Lee County grand jury.
Pryor is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
