GREENVILLE – Firefighters responding to a structure fire in Greenville were temporarily forced out of the building after live ammunition began discharging and propane tanks started venting, according to the Greenville Fire Department.
Crews responded around 9 a.m. Aug. 15 to a reported fully involved structure fire in the area of Hyman Street.
Firefighters initially made an aggressive interior attack and were able to knock down the fire.
During the response, crews were temporarily evacuated because of live ammunition discharging and propane tanks venting inside the structure.
Once conditions were considered safe, firefighters returned to complete overhaul operations, check for hot spots and secure the scene.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
