LUCEDALE – A Lucedale woman has been arrested and charged with credit card fraud following an investigation involving an elderly victim, according to the George County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities identified the suspect as 46-year-old Chasity Baker.
Investigators allege Baker used the victim’s credit card information to make more than $2,000 in unauthorized purchases.
Baker was arrested and later appeared before a George County Justice Court judge, who set a $25,000 commercial bond.
“We take allegations of financial exploitation seriously, especially when they involve vulnerable members of our community,” Sheriff Mitchell Mixon said. “Our investigators will continue working to hold those responsible accountable.”
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said additional charges may be considered.
Baker is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
