MONROE, La. — Louisiana State Police troopers assigned to Troop F out of Monroe made three separate traffic stops that resulted in significant narcotics seizures and multiple arrests.
State police say troopers seized more than 1,200 pounds of suspected marijuana, along with suspected cocaine, Adderall and ecstasy. Two firearms and more than $4,000 in cash were also seized.
In one of the stops, nearly 1,100 pounds of suspected marijuana was discovered after LSP K-9 Skip was deployed and gave a positive alert on the vehicle.
State police say the arrests and seizures demonstrate the role proactive traffic enforcement plays in identifying criminal activity and stopping illegal narcotics from reaching Louisiana communities.
Troop F covers northeast Louisiana, and LSP says troopers will continue working with local and federal law enforcement agencies to disrupt drug trafficking and other criminal activity.
