Heat and humidity will increase today especially across the south and southwest. “Elevated” risk for heat danger encompasses much of the south where heat indices will likely rise above 105 F. Heat indices will likely be near 105 F within the indicated “Limited” risk area over the delta region. Portions of eastern Mississippi will see slightly lower humidity. Heat exhaustion is likely with prolonged outdoor activity during the expected long-duration period of heat danger.
