A Marshall County man has been charged with first-degree murder following a fatal shooting in Tate County.
Tate County sheriff’s deputies responded around 12:37 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, to a 911 call reporting that someone had been shot in the 1800 block of Bett-Thyatira Road in Coldwater.
When deputies arrived, they detained a suspect identified as Lloyd Hughes of Marshall County. Deputies also found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators with the Tate County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the shooting. Hughes was arrested and transported to the Tate County Jail, where he was charged with first-degree murder.
The investigation remains active, and authorities said no additional information is being released at this time.
Hughes is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
