CORINTH – A man has been charged with second-degree murder after a 72-year-old relative was found dead inside a Corinth home Friday night, according to WTVA.
Corinth police responded around 7:15 p.m. to a residence in the 2100 block of Oak Lane after receiving a 911 call reporting a medical emergency.
Officers found Gary Mitchell, 72, dead in a hallway inside the home. First responders noticed blood on the victim and bullet holes in the residence, according to police.
A relative who was at the home, Jacob Mitchell, was taken into custody.
Jacob Mitchell was charged with second-degree murder and shooting into a dwelling.
He was expected to make his initial court appearance as early as Monday.
No additional details were immediately released.
