MADISON- Residents are invited to pick zinnias for free at the Madison Station Botanic Garden’s new location at the historic Montgomery House.
The garden is located at 2069 Main Street, according to the city of Madison.
Visitors are asked to park across the street and enter using the footbridge near the Montgomery House rather than the main gate.
The city recommends bringing a bucket of water to keep the flowers from wilting after they are cut.
There is no charge to visit the garden or pick zinnias. Visitors should cut the flowers instead of pulling them up by the roots, allowing the plants to continue growing and producing blooms.
Zinnias also remain available for cutting in the field along Madison Avenue.
