MONROE COUNTY – An Aberdeen man died Thursday after falling from a tree while working at a residence in eastern Monroe County, WTVA reported.
Emergency responders were called around 5:24 p.m. July 16 to a home in the Quincy community along U.S. Highway 278 east of Amory.
Witnesses said Randy Thomas Dixon, 62, was about 50 feet above the ground while removing the tree when he fell, according to the Monroe County Coroner’s Office.
Dixon was taken by ambulance to North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Coroner’s office officials said Dixon died from multiple traumatic injuries sustained in the fall.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified and is investigating the fatal workplace accident.
