JACKSON — The Jackson Police Department has identified the victim in an apparent drive-by shooting that claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman early Wednesday.
Police said Adrianna Cooper, 19, was fatally shot after gunfire was fired into a home in the 200 block of South Prentiss Street at about 1:55 a.m.
According to investigators, Cooper was inside the residence when she was struck by gunfire. She died from her injuries. Her next of kin has been notified.
The shooting marks Jackson’s 44th homicide of 2026.
