JACKSON — A fourth suspect has been extradited to Jackson and charged in connection with the June triple homicide that claimed the lives of two sisters and a 2-year-old child, according to the Jackson Police Department.
Devone Modacure, 32, was arrested July 1 in Kaufman County, Texas, by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Service. He was extradited back to Jackson on July 15 and faces multiple charges, including three counts of capital murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery of an individual, auto theft, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and burglary of an occupied dwelling.
Modacure was denied bond during his initial court appearance.
The charges stem from a June 27 triple homicide at a residence in the 300 block of Queen Alexandria Lane, where police said 26-year-old Keyana Weathersby, her 30-year-old sister Erica Weathersby and Keyana Weathersby’s 2-year-old son, Cameri Givens, were killed.
Two other suspects, 28-year-old Cornelius Carter and 28-year-old Jordan Carter, were arrested June 29 after police said they attempted to elude officers while traveling in a vehicle believed to be connected to the homicides.
Cornelius Carter was charged with capital murder and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Jordan Carter was charged with capital murder. Both were denied bond.
A third suspect, 25-year-old Mikala Young, was arrested July 1 and charged with capital murder. She was also denied bond.
