Mississippi Blood Services is asking residents across West Mississippi to donate blood during a series of mobile drives planned throughout July.
Officials said donations are needed to help local hospitals maintain an adequate blood supply and remain prepared for emergencies and patient needs.
Walk-ins will be accepted as space allows. Donors should bring a photo ID, eat a meal before donating and stay hydrated.
A schedule of upcoming mobile drives and additional information about the July giveaway are available through Mississippi Blood Services.

Anyone who donates at a participating mobile blood drive in July will automatically be entered for a chance to win one of five weekly $250 Visa gift cards.
