RIDGELAND — The City of Ridgeland and the Keep Ridgeland Beautiful Committee will celebrate the city’s commitment to conservation and beautification Friday with the unveiling of a new educational marker at the Ridgeland Wildflower Field & Art Park.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Friday, July 10, at the park, located at 411 W. Jackson St., with attendees asked to arrive by 9:45 a.m.
Mayor Gene McGee, members of the Keep Ridgeland Beautiful Committee, Explore Ridgeland, city staff and representatives from the Mississippi Museum of Art are expected to participate.
The new educational marker will provide visitors with information about the wildflower field’s ecosystem and the important role pollinators play in maintaining healthy environments.
City officials will also debut a new Keep Ridgeland Beautiful section on Ridgeland’s website, highlighting the committee’s ongoing beautification initiatives throughout the city.
The celebration will include remarks from city leaders, live music, a wildflower sprout station, the marker unveiling, educational information about the park’s ecosystem and refreshments.
The Ridgeland Wildflower Field & Art Park serves as both a public green space and an educational resource, promoting environmental awareness while showcasing native wildflowers and public art.
