MARINETTE – A murder suspect has been taken into custody in Marinette, Wisconsin, following a coordinated effort between the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service, according to Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten.
Jayden V. Cayou was safely apprehended by members of the U.S. Marshals Service at approximately 1:55 p.m. Monday after investigators developed information regarding his whereabouts, according to the sheriff’s office. He is currently being held in Wisconsin pending extradition to Adams County.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office credited its Criminal Investigation Division and the U.S. Marshals Service for their work in locating and apprehending Cayou.
“We cannot thank the U.S. Marshals enough for their assistance in helping bring a measure of closure to the family who lost their loved one,” Patten said. “This arrest demonstrates what can be accomplished when law enforcement agencies work together toward a common goal.”
Once Cayou signs an extradition waiver, arrangements will be made to transport him back to Adams County, where he will face the charges filed against him, according to the sheriff’s office.
Patten also commended the efforts of his department’s investigators throughout the case.
“You can run from the law, but you can’t hide,” Patten said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
