PEARL – A Pearl police officer had an unexpected encounter with local wildlife Tuesday afternoon when a deer collided with his patrol vehicle, according to the Pearl Police Department.
Officer Brinnon was on duty when the deer slammed into the hood of his patrol unit. No injuries were reported, and the deer left the scene afterward.
The department said Officer Brinnon did a great job staying calm throughout the encounter.
Pearl police used the incident as an opportunity to remind drivers to stay alert for wildlife, particularly during hours when deer activity tends to increase.
