BRANDON — Police are asking for the public’s help locating a suspect accused of burglarizing vehicles in a Brandon neighborhood early Tuesday morning.
According to the Brandon Police Department, a man was captured on home surveillance cameras breaking into unlocked vehicles in the Cornerstone subdivision during the early morning hours of July 7.
Through the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 30-year-old Jevonnte Darvon Taylor of Vossburg.
Police said Taylor is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He was last seen in the area of Grants Ferry Parkway and Hillcrest Place wearing a mask, a light-colored jacket, dark pants, and black and light-colored tennis shoes.
Authorities said Taylor is believed to be possibly armed and dangerous.
Brandon Police Chief Beau Edgington said officers also located an abandoned vehicle nearby that was still warm to the touch. The vehicle was registered to Taylor.
Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles, noting that the vehicles burglarized in this case had been left unlocked.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to Taylor’s arrest.
