GULFPORT -The Gulf Coast Chapter of the Mississippi Police Benevolent Association and the Police Benevolent Foundation are asking for financial support for two Gulfport police officers after a fire destroyed their home.
The organizations said Devin and Jocelyn Bermudez, both officers with the Gulfport Police Department, recently lost their home and many of their belongings in a fire.
Devin Bermudez serves as a patrol officer, responding to calls for service and working to protect the Gulfport community. Jocelyn Bermudez serves as a school resource officer, working to help keep schools safe while building relationships with students, faculty and families.
The association said the Bermudez family is grateful that everyone is safe, but they now face the difficult task of rebuilding after the fire.
The Police Benevolent Foundation said 100% of money received for the fundraiser will go toward assisting the Bermudez family.
