VICKSBURG — A motorcyclist was seriously injured Monday in a crash involving a passenger vehicle in downtown Vicksburg, according to the Vicksburg Police Department.
Officers responded June 29 to the intersection of First North Street and Clay Street after receiving reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
Police identified the motorcyclist as Marlon Robinson. He was taken by ambulance to Merit Health River Region before being airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for additional treatment.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as Laquita Smith, was transported to the Vicksburg Police Department as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not released details about what led to the crash.
