JACKSON — Two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with a series of thefts at the City of Jackson Impound Lot earlier this month, according to the Jackson Police Department.
Police said the arrests came Thursday, June 18, following an extensive investigation into thefts reported June 1 at the impound lot on Michael Avalon Street.
Investigators with the Jackson Police Department, assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the U.S. Marshals Service, Capitol Police and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, served a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Bounds Road.
Authorities arrested James Yelverton and Jessica Dickerson in connection with the case.
Police said Yelverton was transported directly to the Hinds County Detention Facility by a law enforcement agency assisting the U.S. Marshals Service. He made his initial appearance in Jackson Municipal Court, where his bond was set at $500,000.
Dickerson, 42, was charged with business burglary. Police allege she is the woman seen driving a golf cart off the impound lot in surveillance images previously released by investigators. She also appeared in municipal court, where her bond was set at $40,000.
No additional information was released.
