YAZOO COUNTY — Yazoo County Sheriff Jeremy “Bull” McCoy is asking residents to let his office know about elderly loved ones or those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia so deputies can help keep an eye on them.
In a social media post, McCoy said he understands that families are busy and that it can be difficult to monitor loved ones at all times.
“If you have a loved one who is elderly or may be suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, please feel free to reach out to me so we can help keep a check on them,” McCoy wrote. “We understand that times are hard, families are busy, and it can be difficult to monitor loved ones at all times.”
McCoy said the goal is to help families know their senior citizens are okay when life gets crowded.
“Our goal is simply to help ensure that our senior citizens are safe, well cared for, and accounted for,” he wrote.

“Working together as a community, we can help protect and look after those who have spent their lives looking after us,” McCoy said.
