Dangerous heat stress will continue especially in some areas south of Interstate 20 today, where heat index values could reach near 105 degrees. Heat stress will worsen later this week.
Wednesday will bring a mix of sun and clouds to start the day before skies become mostly cloudy in the afternoon. High temperatures will climb in other areas to around 86 degrees with light northwest winds at 5 to 10 mph. Most areas should stay dry, though a stray shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out.
Partly cloudy skies will continue through the evening before scattered thunderstorms develop after midnight. Overnight lows will settle near 73 degrees with light winds and a 40% chance of rain.
