HATTIESBURG – The Hattiesburg Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash that caused a temporary power outage Sunday.
Police said the crash happened June 21 near the intersection of West 7th Street and Main Street.
According to HPD, officers and emergency responders were dispatched around 3:26 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash involving a vehicle that struck a utility pole.
The crash caused significant damage to the pole and led to a temporary power outage affecting nearby homes and businesses.
Police said the driver, described as a Hispanic male, left the scene before officers arrived.
Officers searched the area, but the driver was not located.
The incident remains under investigation.
