ELLISVILLE – T he Ellisville Police Department is warning residents to lock their vehicles after receiving a growing number of auto burglary reports.
According to the department, every vehicle reported burglarized had been left unlocked.
Police are urging residents to double-check their vehicles, keep valuables out of sight or inside their homes, and park in well-lit areas or near motion-detecting lights when possible.
The department is also asking residents to report suspicious people walking in neighborhoods late at night.
Anyone who sees suspicious activity on home surveillance cameras is asked to forward images or video to an Ellisville police officer as soon as possible.
EPD thanked residents who have already provided surveillance footage, saying the information has helped with burglary investigations.
Police are reminding residents again to lock their vehicles.
