Friday, June 12 update: A sixth arrest has been made in the shooting of former Ole Miss and JSU football player D. D. Bowie.
According to the Rankin County Sheriffs Department, Kristen O’Brien Ragsdale has been arrested on charges of hindering the prosecution. He is being held on a $75,000 bond.
UPDATE: According to Rankin County authorities, Ladarius Harrison, who is pending trial for attempted murder in Rankin County Circuit Court, was out on bond Friday night when he was allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of former Ole Miss and JSU football player D.D. Bowie.
Semiko Crump is the sister of Latasha Crump-Coleman, who went missing out of Jackson in 2023.
Crump-Coleman’s husband, Derrick Coleman, was killed in a shooting at a gas station a year later that also took the life of the gas station owner, Jasvir Singh. Three others were left injured.

Michael Jerome Mitchell, 19, of Brandon, has been charged as an accessory after the fact to murder. He’s being held in the Rankin County jail.
RANKIN COUNTY — Over the weekend, two people were charged with murder and two others with accessory after the fact following a fatal shooting Friday evening in northern Rankin County, authorities said.
Deputies with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office responded just after 6 p.m. June 5 to the 100 block of Adams Road after receiving a report of a disturbance that had escalated into gunfire.
When deputies arrived, they found 27-year-old Idarrious Iantron “D.D.” Bowie of Lena suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Bowie was transported by Pafford EMS to a local hospital, where he later died despite lifesaving efforts.
Witnesses told investigators they saw a small gray passenger car leaving the scene with multiple occupants.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies immediately began processing the crime scene, interviewing witnesses and developing information about potential suspects.
Within hours of the shooting, investigators identified and arrested Ladarious Harrison and Dominick Sanabria. Both have been charged with murder.
Authorities also arrested Semiko Crump and Kaylee Trimble, charging them with accessory after the fact of murder.
Investigators said the case remains active and ongoing, and additional arrests are possible as authorities continue to identify individuals who may have assisted the suspects after the shooting.
One firearm has been recovered as part of the investigation.
The defendants are expected to make their initial appearances before Rankin County Court Judge David Morrow.
Sheriff Bryan Bailey praised the work of deputies and investigators, saying their efforts led to the rapid identification and arrest of those involved.
“Violence has no place in our community,” Bailey said in a statement. “This senseless act has left a family grieving and a community searching for answers. We remain committed to pursuing justice for the victim, holding those responsible fully accountable, and continuing our mission of keeping Rankin County a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Bailey said investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no known ongoing threat to the community.
The victim, Bowie, was a graduate of Morton High School and played collegiate football at Ole Miss and Jackson State University, according to information provided to investigators.
