UPDATE: Jeremy Nathan Wright has been formally charged in connection with the June 3 domestic-related shooting that resulted in the death of Clarinda Turpin.
Wright has been charged with:
• First-Degree Murder
• Two Counts of Aggravated Assault
• Shooting Into an Occupied Vehicle
• Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon
Judge Angela Carpenter has set Wright’s bond at $5,000,000.

VICKSBURG — A 47-year-old woman died Tuesday night after being shot multiple times in Vicksburg, and a suspect is in custody, according to police.
Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded at approximately 7:50 p.m. to the 2000 block of Hope Street in reference to a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found Clarinda Turpin suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported for medical treatment but later died from her injuries.
Preliminary findings indicate the shooting stemmed from a domestic-related dispute, police said.
The suspect, identified as Jeremy Wright, fled the scene following the shooting. During his flight, Wright allegedly ingested an unknown substance before being apprehended at another location. He remains in custody.
The Vicksburg Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to investigate the case.
