TUPELO – A Tupelo man was arrested after police investigated an armed robbery report on Bryson Drive.
According to the Tupelo Police Department, officers received a report May 28 from a victim who said an armed robbery happened in the area of Bryson Drive. The victim gave officers a description of the suspect and vehicle.
Police said officers conducted a traffic stop the same day on a possible suspect vehicle.
During the investigation, four suspects were identified and charged. They were identified as Kayla Turner, 25, of Tupelo; Demario Harris, 19, of Tupelo; Deon Shumpert, 22, of Tupelo; and Keryauna Wheatley, 19, of Booneville.
On May 29, Harris was charged with armed robbery. He had an initial appearance in Tupelo Municipal Court, where Judge Harry Sumner denied bond.
The charges will be presented to the Lee County grand jury.
