CANTON — A Canton man with two prior cocaine convictions has been sentenced to 64 years in prison after investigators said he continued selling crack cocaine from his home while armed with a handgun.
Authorities said narcotics investigators with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department conducted several controlled drug purchases from Khadafy Manning at his residence in Canton during May 2025.
Investigators used a confidential informant equipped with a covert camera during the purchases, according to prosecutors. After expanding the investigation into Manning’s alleged drug distribution operation, deputies executed a search warrant at the home and reportedly discovered crack cocaine, marijuana, alprazolam and a handgun.
Manning was charged with three counts of sale of cocaine, one count of possession of cocaine with intent to sell while in possession of a firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon as a subsequent drug offender and nonviolent habitual offender.
Court records show Manning pleaded guilty May 19, 2026.
Madison and Rankin Counties District Attorney John K. Bramlett announced the sentence Tuesday, saying Manning will serve 64 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Prosecutors noted Manning had previously been convicted in Madison County for sale of cocaine in both 2003 and 2007.
Bramlett praised investigators for their work and said authorities remain committed to targeting repeat drug offenders operating in local communities.
