LEAKE COUNTY – A large amount of drugs and several firearms were seized during a drug bust in Leake County, according to the Leake County Sheriff’s Office.


Sheriff Randy W. Atkinson said deputies and investigators seized 395 grams of methamphetamine, 54 grams of spice, 10 grams of marijuana and five firearms from a home off Pearl Hill Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, the methamphetamine seized was 58 grams shy of a pound and had an estimated street value of $5,000.
One person was taken into custody during the operation. The sheriff’s office did not immediately release the person’s name or charges.
No injuries were reported during the arrest, and officials said public safety remained the top priority throughout the operation.
The sheriff’s office is encouraging anyone with information about drug activity to contact deputies.
