JACKSON – Several specialty clinics at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center were closed Thursday because of flooding.
The closures were announced for the remainder of Thursday, May 21, to ensure the safety of veterans, visitors and staff. Officials said all other clinics, including primary care and other specialty clinic appointments, are continuing as scheduled at this time.
The affected clinics include Women’s Health, also known as the Pink Clinic, Cardiology, Dermatology, Renal, Spinal Cord and Gastroenterology.
Veterans with appointments in those clinics will be contacted directly by staff to move appointments to virtual visits when appropriate or to reschedule for the next available appointment time.
Veterans with appointments outside the affected clinics should continue reporting for care as planned unless they are contacted directly by VA staff.

Officials said teams are working to safely address the flooding and restore normal operations.
