PANOLA COUNTY – Several people were arrested after North Panola High School was found severely damaged earlier this week, according to the Panola County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to the school, located on Highway 51 North in Sardis, in the early morning hours of May 12.
When deputies arrived, they found severe damage throughout much of the building, authorities said. Multiple fire extinguishers had been discharged, classrooms were damaged and the principal’s office had been broken into and damaged.
Investigators spent much of Tuesday gathering evidence and identifying suspects. Adult suspects were booked into the Panola County Detention Center. Juvenile suspects were released to the custody of their parents or legal guardians and will be adjudicated through youth court.
Those arrested include Jamarion Armstrong, 18; Aaliyah House, 21; Jmarion Lamar, 18; Charles Clark, 18; Makiya Lockett, 18; Darrell Miller, 18; Antarria Mosley, 19; Denard Presley, 18; Willie Rucker, 18; Pheghton Spann, 18; Anijah Taylor, 18; Tony Wren, 20; and Dominic Young, 18.
Authorities said charges are pending, and more charges and suspects may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
