Man extradited to George County in sexual, physical abuse case

GEORGE COUNTY – A man previously arrested in Alabama after an investigation into multiple reports of sexual and physical abuse has been extradited to George County, according to the George County Sheriff’s Office.

Tony K. Fairley, 49, was previously arrested in Baldwin County, Alabama, after an extensive investigation by George County authorities.

The sheriff’s office said Fairley was initially charged with three counts of sexual battery and two counts of child abuse after multiple people came forward reporting incidents that allegedly happened over several years.

Since Fairley’s return to George County, additional charges of molestation and grooming have been filed, according to the sheriff’s office.

Bond was set at $200,000 each for the three sexual battery charges, $50,000 each for the two child abuse charges, $50,000 for the molestation charge and $50,000 for the grooming charge. The total bond amount is $800,000.

Fairley is being held at the George County Regional Correctional Facility pending further court proceedings.

Sheriff Mitchell Mixon said the case reflects the dedication of investigators and the department’s commitment to protecting victims in George County.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains focused on protecting the community and holding offenders accountable.

Fairley is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
