RIPLEY — Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks officials say Tippah County Lake remains closed until further notice after sustaining damage during a recent ice storm.
The agency said the lake is currently unsafe for boating and fishing while crews assess the extent of the damage.
MDWFP staff are working to evaluate conditions and make necessary repairs in an effort to restore public access as soon as possible, according to the department.
No timeline has been announced for reopening. Officials said the public will be notified once the lake is deemed safe.
