TUPELO – A man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty to three manslaughter charges in connection with a 2021 Tupelo shooting that killed three people, according to the First Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

District Attorney Jason D. Herring said Taquon Garth entered the guilty pleas Friday.

The charges stem from a July 24, 2021, shooting that resulted in the deaths of Jessica Pannell, Robben Wilson and Norahs Coleman, according to the district attorney’s office.

After accepting Garth’s pleas, Circuit Court Judge Kelly Mims sentenced him to the maximum sentence of 20 years on each manslaughter charge, authorities said.

The three sentences were ordered to run consecutively, resulting in a total sentence of 60 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

The district attorney’s office thanked the Tupelo Police Department and Detective Tyler Cook for their work on the case.

Assistant District Attorney Josh Wise prosecuted the case for the state, according to the release.
