GULFPORT — A Gulfport man has been arrested in connection with a shooting last week that left one person injured, authorities said.
The Gulfport Police Department said 34-year-old Christopher Charles Clark was charged with one count of aggravated assault following the April 30 shooting near Polk Street and Alabama Avenue.
Officers responded to the area around 1:26 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police said the victim initially refused medical treatment but was later taken to a local hospital by a family member.
During the investigation, detectives identified Clark as the suspect. Authorities said he was later located and arrested by the Ocean Springs Police Department.
Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Clark and the victim.
Clark was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held on a $250,000 bond.
