MADISON – Webster Animal Shelter is highlighting Spanky, a 4-year-old boxer mix staff say has become a favorite among volunteers.
According to the shelter, Spanky has a mix of playful energy and affection and enjoys being outside, especially relaxing in the sunshine and staying close to people.
Shelter staff describe him as adaptable and say he could do well in a variety of homes, including with an active family or a more laid-back household.
The shelter said Spanky gets along well with other dogs and does well with children. However, staff said he should not go to a home with cats.
Another important consideration, is that Spanky is athletic and may climb or clear fences if left alone. Staff said he would do best with a taller, secure fence or added barriers to help keep him safe.
Spanky has been neutered, tested heartworm-negative and is up to date on his vaccinations, including rabies, the shelter said.
The adoption fee is $100, and the shelter said it can accept cash or check. Anyone interested in meeting Spanky or learning more can call 601-605-4729 or learn more on the shelter’s website.
