GREENVILLE – City crews in Greenville have removed more than 30 fallen trees following a severe thunderstorm, according to Mayor Errick D. Simmons.
In a statement issued Wednesday morning, Simmons urged residents to remain cautious as recovery efforts continue across the city.
The mayor thanked Public Works crews, first responders and emergency personnel for responding overnight to storm-related damage.
Simmons said cleanup work is still underway and asked residents to be patient as crews continue clearing debris and addressing issues citywide.
Residents who encounter downed limbs, blocked streets or other hazardous conditions are encouraged to report them to the appropriate city department, the mayor said.
“Storms may test us, but they also remind us of the strength and resilience of our community,” Simmons said. “We will continue working until the job is done.”
He also urged residents to stay safe, remain alert and give city crews grace as they work.
