JACKSON — Jackson police have identified a man found unresponsive in a street Tuesday evening as 42-year-old Gregory Williams.
According to the Jackson Police Department, a Precinct 3 officer on routine patrol around 8:30 p.m. observed a person lying in the roadway near Ridgeway Street and Booker T. Washington Street. After checking on the individual, the officer found an unresponsive male, authorities said.
Williams’ next of kin has been notified.
Police said the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
Earlier, investigators said they were working to positively identify the man before notifying family members. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
