JONES COUNTY – A California man who had been reported missing was arrested Monday afternoon in Jones County after authorities located him driving on Interstate 59 and discovered he was wanted on several felony warrants.
Authorities said Aaron Kravetz, 39, of Montecito, California, was found driving a Volkswagen GTI north on I-59 near Exit 104 in the Sandersville area.
A Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division officer located Kravetz, officials said. Additional units from the Sandersville Police Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol and Jones County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at the officer’s request.
In addition to being reported missing from Montecito, Kravetz had several outstanding felony warrants out of Santa Barbara County, California.
Those warrants include threats to commit a crime with intent to terrorize, stalking, contempt of court and four counts of disobeying a court order.
Kravetz is being held in the Jones County Adult Detention Facility pending extradition proceedings to return him to authorities in Santa Barbara County.
