JACKSON – The Mississippi Department of Public Safety is warning the public about a fraudulent text message circulating that falsely claims to be from the Driver Service Bureau.
In a statement, DPS said the message is a scam and stressed that neither the department nor the Driver Service Bureau sends text messages requesting payment or personal information.
Officials urged anyone who receives the message not to click on any links included in the text.
The department also advised recipients to delete the message immediately and report it as spam through their mobile carrier.
DPS urged the public to remain alert and use extra caution when receiving unsolicited messages.
