COPIAH COUNTY – A man was found dead, shot in the chest in a home in Copiah County today.
According to Sheriff Byron Swilley, the Copiah County sheriff’s office was called to 1028 Johnson Lane in Hazlehurst Monday at 11:40 a.m.
Once deputies arrived, they learned that a relative of the victim found him deceased in the rear of the house.
The victim was identified as 39-year-old Benjamin Price. He had been shot one time in the chest.
Sheriff Swilley said this is being treated as a death investigation right now. The body was sent to the MS State Crime Lab.
