HINDS COUNTY – The Hinds County Chancery Courthouse and all Hinds County offices inside the building were evacuated Thursday due to a potential hazardous device threat, according to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones.
Jones said in a social media post that the evacuation would remain in place until further notice.
The sheriff said other law enforcement agencies were responding to assist.
No additional details about the nature of the threat were immediately released.
The incident remains under investigation.
