JACKSON – Jackson State University will receive $500,000 from FedEx over the next four years to support its College of Business, according to JSU.
The university said the funding will help advance student access, faculty excellence and other support initiatives within the college.
According to JSU, the money will support the College of Business’ Supply Chain Management Center and Data Analytics programs in three main areas: student support and empowerment, faculty development and research, and growth initiatives within the Supply Chain Management Center and Data Analytics Lab.
“FedEx has been a valued partner to Jackson State University, and this new initiative builds on a relationship grounded in opportunity and outcomes,” Interim President Denise Jones Gregory said in a statement released by JSU. “This partnership advances what matters most at JSU—student success, faculty excellence and the resources to grow high-impact programs in our College of Business.”
JSU said the latest funding builds on a longstanding relationship between the university and FedEx. Previous collaborations have included the FedEx-JSU Endowed Scholarship Fund and a five-year FedEx-HBCU Student Ambassador program aimed at helping students prepare for the workforce after graduation.
“We are proud to be long-time supporters of the students at Jackson State University,” Rose Jackson Flenorl, manager of Global Citizenship and Human Resources at FedEx, said in the JSU release. “This donation reaffirms our commitment to helping these future leaders access pathways to meaningful careers.”
