ADAMS COUNTY – An 18-year-old Brookhaven man has been arrested after investigators said two vehicles were stolen on separate occasions from the same Adams County business.
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 9:06 a.m. Feb. 23, 2026, to Rayborn Drilling at 692 U.S. Highway 61 North in reference to a reported theft.
When deputies arrived, they learned a company work truck had been taken from the property sometime on Feb. 19. After checking with employees and confirming the vehicle was not at any secondary locations, investigators determined it had been stolen.
The vehicle was described as a white 2008 Ford F-250 two-door service pickup with a toolbox bed and an estimated value of about $20,000.
During the investigation, deputies said they discovered the suspect was responsible for stealing two separate vehicles from the same location on two different occasions.
Investigators identified the suspect as Jayden Chase Branning of Brookhaven. He was arrested and charged with two counts of felony taking away of a motor vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities said Branning’s bond was set at $25,000.
The sheriff’s office said the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted in the case and that Branning was taken into custody after being stopped while driving one of the stolen vehicles.
The case remains under investigation, and additional charges may be filed
