JACKSON COUNTY — A bicyclist was killed in a three-vehicle crash early Sunday on Highway 611 in Jackson County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 5 a.m. when a 2008 Honda Accord driven by Dilaila Ortiz, 22, of Gautier, and a 2016 Toyota Camry driven by James Baxter, 39, were traveling north on Highway 611 and collided with a bicyclist.
Authorities identified the bicyclist as Temario Compton, 35, of Mobile. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said neither Ortiz nor Baxter was injured in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
