GEORGE COUNTY – A George County investigation into a possible child exploitation case has led to the arrest of a New York man now facing a federal charge, according to the George County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said a George County resident reported the case to the sheriff’s office Criminal Investigation Division on Dec. 15, 2025.
During the investigation, officials learned the child and the suspect first made contact through a popular online gaming platform before later exchanging phone numbers, according to the sheriff’s office. Investigators said the relationship escalated to the point that the child was sending personal images to the suspect.
Through a joint effort involving George County investigators, detectives in Glens Falls, New York, and Homeland Security Investigations, authorities secured a search warrant for the suspect’s home and electronic devices.
On March 9, 2026, 30-year-old Dylan Taylor of Glens Falls was arrested, according to the sheriff’s office. Officials said Taylor has been charged with one count of receiving child pornography and is being held in federal custody.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Sheriff Mitchell Mixon said the case shows the value of cooperation between agencies.
“This case highlights the positive results that come from strong collaboration between agencies at all levels,” Mixon said. “We will continue to utilize every available resource to protect our children and hold offenders accountable.”
