Pickle Fest Returns to Jackson in June

JACKSON — The Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum Foundation will host its 6th Annual Pickle Fest on June 13-14 at the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum, offering two days of food, entertainment and family-friendly activities celebrating Mississippi’s agricultural heritage.

The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 13 and noon to 5 p.m. June 14 at the museum, located at 1150 Lakeland Drive. Organizers said tickets are on sale now and expected to sell out following a record turnout of 7,200 attendees from 24 states in 2025.

Admission is $10 per day for foundation members and $15 per day for non-members, while children under 3 are admitted free. A separate ticket is required for each day.

Pickle Fest will feature live music, educational demonstrations and pickle-inspired foods throughout the museum grounds and its Small Town Mississippi exhibit. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum and the National Agricultural Aviation Museum.

Festival highlights include a pickle eating contest, a new pickle-themed costume contest, and competitions for homemade pickled creations and dishes featuring pickled ingredients. A children’s area will offer crafts, story time, face painting and take-home cucumber seeds.

The Mississippi State Extension Service will also host pickling demonstrations, alongside vendors offering Mississippi-made products.

Dr. Bill Herndon, chair of the foundation’s board, said the event continues to grow each year and brings together the community and businesses around a shared interest. Museum Executive Director Theresa Love said the festival serves as both a celebration and an educational opportunity highlighting the state’s agriculture and agricultural aviation history.

Named “Best Small Festival in Mississippi” by the Mississippi Tourism Association, Pickle Fest emphasizes food traditions, fermentation and the state’s agricultural legacy.

More information, including sponsorship, vendor and volunteer opportunities, is available online. The sponsor deadline is May 8, and the vendor deadline is April 17.
