HANCOCK COUNTY — Authorities in Hancock County are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted for aggravated assault who is considered armed and dangerous.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Gavin J. Victor Ladner, 31, of Saucier, who fled the scene of an incident in the Crane Creek community, according to officials.
Investigators said Ladner’s vehicle has since been recovered in neighboring Harrison County, but he remains at large. Authorities warned that he may still be in possession of a shotgun.
Officials are urging anyone who sees Ladner or knows his immediate whereabouts to call Central Dispatch at 228-255-9191 or dial 911.
Those with non-emergency information about Ladner’s possible whereabouts are also encouraged to contact dispatch or submit anonymous tips through the sheriff’s office website or mobile app.
Authorities cautioned residents not to rely on social media comments to report information, noting that such posts can be difficult to monitor in real time.
Ladner should not be approached, officials said.
