BRANDON — The Brandon Main Street Association will host its fourth annual Crawfish Crawl 5K and post-race festival on Saturday, April 18, bringing hundreds of runners and visitors to downtown Brandon.

Organizers said more than 250 participants have already registered for the event, with runners traveling from across Mississippi as well as neighboring states, including Florida and Louisiana. The event serves as a fundraiser for the association while also boosting local businesses by drawing visitors to shop and dine throughout the day.

The 5K race will begin at 8 a.m. and wind through downtown Brandon, followed by the New Little Crawlers one-mile run at 8:30 a.m.

A finish-line celebration will take place at Genna Benna’s, featuring breakfast, drinks and live music. Later in the day, the Crawfish Crawl Festival will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mudbugs042, offering crawfish, live entertainment and crawfish races.

Organizers said the event has become a community-wide effort, with residents lining the race route to cheer on participants, creating a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.

In addition to the race and festival, the Crawfish Crawl coincides with a full weekend of events in Brandon, including a City Hall Live comedy show Friday evening and a concert at the Brandon Amphitheater on Saturday night, further increasing tourism in the area.

Officials said the growing event continues to highlight downtown Brandon as a destination for community events and economic activity.
