JACKSON — Jackson Police Chief Dr. RaShall Brackney will continue a series of community meetings across Jackson in April and May, inviting residents to share concerns and help shape public safety efforts citywide.

The meetings follow outreach that began in February, when Brackney met with residents, business owners and faith leaders in Wards 5 and 6 to discuss neighborhood priorities and ways the Jackson Police Department can strengthen partnerships with the community.

The next round of meetings will expand to remaining wards through a mix of evening gatherings and daytime outreach events.

Each meeting will include remarks from Brackney, an overview of current public safety initiatives and an open listening session for residents to ask questions, voice concerns and offer ideas.

“I want every neighborhood in Jackson to know that their voice matters and that their police department is listening,” Brackney said. “These meetings are a chance for me to sit down with residents where they live, worship and work, to hear directly about what’s working, what isn’t, and how we can move forward to make every part of this city safer.”

Upcoming meetings are scheduled for April 14 at the Georgetown Event Center, April 16 at Christ United Church, April 30 at Stronger Hope Church, May 1 at Union Station and May 5 at the South Jackson Community Center.

Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting in their ward or any session that fits their schedule.
