MARSHALL COUNTY – An investigation is underway after an inmate was found dead at the Marshall County Correctional Facility, according to WMC Action News 5. The Mississippi Department of Corrections said 53-year-old Alexander Davis was found dead April 6.
MDOC did not say where inside the facility Davis was found. The agency said the cause and manner of death are pending a full autopsy.
WMC reported Davis was serving a 20-year sentence for selling methamphetamine in a Neshoba County case from 2022. He had been expected to be released in October 2040.
The Marshall County Correctional Facility is located in Holly Springs and can house up to 1,000 inmates, according to WMC.
